This is yet another plee for some help in finding some S/W that works.
I have a Creatix 14.4 VFD modem that came with Cheyennes Bitware. A good looking package if only it worked. This package can be configured to auto answer and
detect either voice, fax or data. Fact is it only recognises voice. To get it receive a fax I have to configure it for fax only. Even then it only receives some faxes and not
others. Even in voice mode I occasionally get minutes of dial tone recorded and I can't playback anything via the external speaker. The data comms window also has
problems. Although it works the text window always defaults to its smallest font regarless of what I set it to. Both Creatix and Cheyenne have been useless, both blaiming the
other when they even bother to reply to my repeated faxes and email questions.
So I moved on to Quicklink II. This doesn't do anything. Promptly gave up.
Now playing with WinFax Pro 4.0. I set it up to auto answer. Phoned home from the office to see if it would pick up the call. It did and gave me a fax tone. Hung up. Rang
home again to see if line was free as Bitware often wouldn't hang up. Sure it was ringing but WInFax never picked up the call. Gave up. Got home to find that WinFax had
picked up my first call and was waiting for the Fax to complete. Duration of Fax indicate at over 455 minutes. Yet another piece of untested S/W.
I've now downloaded Katalinas Voiceguide Shareware. Maybe this will work but it still needs WinFax. Guess you can't win.
So....any suggestions.....how do we get this people to fix these problems. Guess they can't be bothered.
